This is the first piano solo album from Magdalena Galka. Inspired by Johann Sebastian Bach (The Well-Tempered Clavier) and Frédéric Chopin (Préludes), the Peace Preludes lead through all 24 major and minor keys and consistently use the unusual 5/16 time signature. This reflects the difficult times during the corona pandemic, as this work was created and dedicated to its victims.

In a concentrated way, the demanding piano miniatures capture a variety of emotions, with the focus on peace and freedom, internally and externally, as well as for today and in the future. Magdalena Galka presents the Peace Preludes as self-contained musical character pieces that can be played both as a cycle, and as individual pieces.

Die Peace Preludes, maßgeblich inspiriert von Johann Sebastian Bach (Das Wohltemperierte Klavier) und Frédéric Chopin (Préludes), führen durch alle 24 Dur- und Molltonarten und treffen durchgängig auf eine ungewöhnliche Taktart: dem 5/16-Takt. Dies spiegelt die unruhige Zeit der Corona-Pandemie wider, in der das Werk entstanden und deren Opfer es gewidmet ist.

In konzentrierter Form fangen die anspruchsvollen Klavierminiaturen eine Vielfalt an Emotionen ein, in deren Mittelpunkt Frieden und Freiheit stehen, im Inneren wie im Äußeren, heute sowie in Zukunft. Magdalena Galka stellt mit den Peace Preludes in sich geschlossene musikalische Charakterstücke vor, die sowohl als Zyklus als auch als Einzelstücke gespielt werden können.
